The creator and builder of the floating cabins, Jani Harju, had always been fascinated with boats and the possibility of living in a floating home. In 2018 he decided to realize this on a small scale.

Thanks to the positive attitude of the city of Porvoo, a suitable place for the floating cabins was found on the Porvoo river. The first cabin Alma, named after his daughter, was ready to receive guests in summer 2019. The second one, Wilhelmina, was opened in summer 2020.

Jani’s dream of planning and accomplishing new and different ways of accommodating visitors in the lovely Finnish scenery had become true. He had created something unique to delight travelers.
